Meet The Doctors
Giovanni Ibrahim, DMD
Dr. Giovanni Ibrahim was born to a Christian Coptic family in Alexandrea, Egypt. He taught himself English with the dream of one day traveling to the United States and beginning a life where hard work translated into success.
After arriving in New York City, he hit the ground running; he served as an NYPD auxiliary police officer post 9-11 while attending school full-time.
It was in this same city that he enrolled in NYU School of Dentistry and obtained a degree in Dental Hygiene.
He continued his education at Walden University where he pursued a Master of Science and became a PhD candidate.
Dr. Ibrahim then enrolled in the prestigious University of Louisville School of Dentistry. It is there that he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine and graduated summa cumme laude as top 1% of his class.
He was inducted into Delphi Society Honorary Dental Society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon, and received many awards including Thomas P. Hinman Scholarship Recipient for Academic excellence, Dental Scholar of the Oral Health Foundation of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, Psi Omega Fraternity Scholastic Achievement Award, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology Award, American Association of Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons Student Award, American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Award, and many more.
Dr. Ibrahim then went on to complete his residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Yale New Haven Hospital/ Yale School of Medicine.
Dr. Ibrahim has received tremendous and extensive training at Yale University by some of the top surgeons in Implantology, Sedation, Facial Trauma, Benign and Malignant Tumors, Craniofacial, Cosmetic, Reconstructive, and Orthognathic Surgeries. He will be full-time at our practice while also having privileges to operate at Yale New Haven Hospital, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Ibrahim loves to spend his free time with his wife and two kids. He enjoys playing Ping-Pong with his friends and enjoys all types of music.
Dr. Ibrahim is dedicated to performing the highest quality of care. He is a compassionate surgeon who strives to deliver the best possible experience for each and every one of his patients.
He is an active member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the Connecticut Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Anthony Carbonella, DMD, MS
Dr. Carbonella is a board-certified orthodontist who specializes in treating patients of all ages using both Invisalign and braces, ranging from simple smile enhancement treatments all the way up to complex orthognathic surgery. He’s a CT native who graduated with honors from UCONN Storrs with a degree in biology and then attended UCONN’s School of Dental Medicine on a full military scholarship and graduated at the top of his class. Once on active duty, he sought further training, completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency, and then practiced general dentistry for 4 years. Dr. Carbonella then attended the rigorous and prestigious Tri-Service Orthodontic Residency Program (TORP) in San Antonio. He then served as one of two American Orthodontists in the UK and finished his active-duty career as a full-time faculty member back at TORP. After fifteen years of military service, he is now proud to offer comprehensive orthodontic treatment at our practice with the highest degree of quality and customer service!
